My name is Matthew Scandroli, and I am a digital painter/digital mixed media artist.
I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA where I currently reside. Primarily, I work with digital media, but I also work in acrylics and oils. Graduated college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts.
Growing up, I was inspired by my grandfather who was a commercial artist. He taught me drawing techniques whenever the opportunity presented itself. Influenced by his creative abilities, I can’t remember a time where I wasn't doing something creative. Similarly, both of my parents have been inspirational in the development of my art over the years. I attribute my success and talents to my faith as a Christian and the support of family and friends.
While my interest in art started at an early age, it wasn’t until high school that my craft began to manifest and flourish. Here I had the opportunity to take part in several Communications Art programs where I was introduced to digital media. At this time, I decided to pursue a degree in Graphic Design/Arts. In college, I began to develop my skills with a brush doing oil and acrylic landscape paintings. By 2009, I quickly transitioned into digital painting and mixed media art, where I feel my skills began to thrive.
Being heavily influenced by The Hudson River and Rocky Mountain Schools of painting, I enjoy working with a broad variety of subjects, but my forte is in landscapes. I’ve always enjoyed trying to replicate nature’s simplistic beauty which resides all around us. I try to capture that sense of serene peace that God’s Creation has to offer; that which allows us all to escape from the clutter of everyday life.
Inspired by God’s many blessings and the awe-inspiring beauty of His Marvelous Creation, I hope for my work to be a message which brings hope and inspiration to many, filling people with a sense of comfort, joy, and peace.
